Student Support Services is a Federal Program funded by the US Department of Education designed to assist low-income, first generation, disabled, and veteran students pursuing post-secondary education at a college or university. Type of assistance includes intensive mentoring, tutoring, peer-couseling, financial information, matriculation into a four year institutions. Types of activities offered are educational workshops, cultural involvement, and community involvement.
The TRIO-Talent Search Program assists potential first-generation participants in completing high school and enrolling into college.
Upward Bound is a federally funded program serving low-income and/or first generation high school students ages 13-19. Its main mission is to encourage high school students to pursue college education after high school. Upward Bound provides workshops on various topics, ranging from financial aid, which college to attend, to selecting a field of study.
